Do you feel you practically live in your car? Americans spend an average of 2 ½ hours per day in their cars. They are often command centers when we run errands, act as a shuttle driver to take children to school, chauffeuring to sport activities, music practice, or running back to school to take forgotten homework. We make grocery store runs and stop at the local nursery for gardening supplies, we have car pool days not to mention taking kids to play dates, taking the children to the park and maybe squeezing in time to meet friends for lunch.
If you use your car like a second home, cars can also get over run with stuff. Here are some great organizing tips for clutter control. It is important when driving to keep distractions and searching for things at a minimum. Create a system to help with clutter control where you keep everything you need at your finger tips without having to search under or between the seats or on the floor.
The Front Seat: The front seat is home to a family of things; chargers for cell phones and other electronic equipment, water bottles, magazines, sun glasses, books, cell phone, maps, directions to where you are going and snacks. But where do these end up? If your car is like a lot of cars these things are all over the front seat and are all jumbled so you can’t find anything.
Here’s an organizing tip to help with front seat clutter control: containers. A universal center console organizer conveniently holds all of the items mentioned above plus much more. It can fit on top of the passenger seat or between bucket seats. This web site at ebags.com has many different organizers for all types of vehicles. If an organizer is placed on the passenger seat it can be easily be moved when you need the seat and everything from there will stay in one place.
Another web site caselogic.com also has a wide selection of organizers. Their front seat organizer sells for $10.49. They sell glove box organizers, electronic organizers and MP3 Player or cell phone organizers. Also check your local variety stores for organizers.
Another organizing tip is to have a sturdy trash container you can easily remove and empty. This is essential to keeping clutter control in your car. Some trash containers strap to the back seat, or others fit between bucket seats in the front and back on the floor. When everything is assigned space then it is easy to stay on top of clutter control.
The Back Seat: If you have children that need something to keep them occupied when they are in the car a hanging organizer behind both seats holds CDs, school supplies, toys, books, snack containers and drinks. Behind one seat a removable tray could serve as a table for games or doing homework. A hanging trash bag could be secured on one side, not just a plastic bag, but a sturdier bag. By having things in easy reach of the children makes clutter control simple and yes, even easy.
Insulated seat back organizers that hang from the front or back of any seat keeps drinks chilled and snacks within reach of the child. An entertainment organizer that has pockets to hold videos or DVDs and CDs can be found at thebusywoman.com.
Trunk Area: Items scattered about such as a diaper bag, sports equipment, work out bag, hazardous road kit, first aid kit, or groceries can be efficiently contained in compartmentalized systems that make use of vertical space for clutter control. Place as many containers as needed to keep everything organized and in its place.
I recommend a bucket or trash basket in the garage so each time you pull into your garage you or your family can immediately take the trash out of the car. This is a good habit to teach children from the time they are about two years old. They will look forward to doing it and will feel so important from the praise they will receive.
With all the clutter control you have done you now have a “second home” you can be proud of.

Are you looking for a decent sized and long lasting shed to put in your back yard? Choosing one can be difficult because you want the perfect one that will serve you for all your shed needs. That is why you need to consider some things before you go out shopping for a storage shed.
* What do you need in a shed?
* Have you decided how big it needs to be?
* Do you know what the purpose of the shed is?
You might want to think about whether it will be holding some garden tools, a lawn mower, or some storage that doesn’t quite fit in your home.
If you just need a storage shed to hold your garden tools you can definitely choose something small. If you need it for a lawn mower or storage you will have to go with something larger. Either way you can find many sizes by checking out some Rubbermaid storage sheds. They start at very small sizes, such as 4×4 and work up, prices increase as the size does, but you will always love the quality of the sheds no matter the size.
Rubbermaid storage sheds would be perfect for whatever reason you need a shed. They come in all sizes, and many colors as well. Sometimes people want their sheds to match their homes, and with Rubbermaid this could very well be possible. Even if you can’t match the color you will find many neutral colors that will accent your home very nicely.
Rubbermaid storage sheds also last a lot longer than wood sheds. The Rubbermaid storage sheds are made out of a very thick plastic that make it easy to trust it to hold your belongings. They also sit well in your yard and hold up against mother nature very nicely. You won’t have to worry that a wind storm will knock it down.
Depending on the size of the Rubbermaid storage shed you purchase there will be shelving inside of the shed as well. This will help you organize nicely. This way, no matter what size you get you will be able to put everything in it, and you will also be able to find it. Wood sheds usually do not have shelving, which leave you to fixing up some shelves or building some into the sheds. While this is an option, the shelves will not withstand the same amount of time the Rubbermaid ones do, because the Rubbermaid storage sheds have the shelving as part of the structure.
If you’ve been thinking of buying a storage shed, Rubbermaid is one of the easiest to maintain and install sheds. You can find the best prices and the largest selection by shopping online.

You’ve conquered your house, your home office, and your car, and you’ve mastered the art of scheduling and cooking in bulk. But your garage is still a cluttered and unorganized mess. As with everything else, a neat and organized garage is attainable with just a little elbow grease and some simple storage solutions.
First, get a handle on the mess by moving everything out to sort through what goes and what stays. Large, clear plastic containers can help you do this. They’re great for clearing away the clutter and then using for storage. Be ruthless with yourself during the sorting and purging process. Don’t keep paint from a project from two years ago, and if you have parts to things you no longer have, get rid of the parts as well.
Consider adding a cabinet to your garage. Look for units that offer keyed locks, so you’re able to store poisonous materials and sharp tools out of children’s reach.
The garage is also where most of your kid’s sporting goods land. To keep bats and balls organized, purchase a hamper style organizer. Designate a section for each child. Add a bin or shelf outside to store messy, muddy shoes as well.
Find a workable storage solution for all the little things in your garage. Organize bolts, screws, nails, fasteners and other small parts into small clear containers so you can easily see what each contains. Organize into steady stacks or consider installing a shelving unit to house these out of the reach of small and curious fingers.
For long handled items, such as rakes and shovels, look for storage units to keep everything straight or use a durable rubber trash can. Pegboards can also be installed on garage walls, and can be a simple solution for hanging items such as rakes or shovels out of the way. They can also be hung on hooks. Inexpensive hooks come in a variety of sizes. Large deep hooks are perfect for hanging a ladder and bikes can be hung and kept off the garage floor as well.
Now that you’ve practiced on your house, your office and your car, organizing your garage is a snap with a little creativity, some hard work, and a well thought out plan.
