This is a great tip. My husband and I got caught in so many little mis-communications over scheduling that now we use the online calendar at calendars.net. It’s free and you can even show it to other people if you give them the url.

Great article. I totally agree. Especially with the part about taking anything out of your office that isn’t related to “work”.
My office at one point had become a “catch all” for my entire family. Not anymore!
Now it’s space JUST for me work and it’s made a difference!

I think that for packrats and other organizationally challenged people, a yard sale is another distraction. It’s a big job to sell the stuff, although the money is nice to have, I think people think they are going to get the money they’ve wasted on junk “back.” They don’t get it back. If they’re lucky, they’ll get 20% of it’s current market value back. I think it’s better to just donate it, set it free. I have a regular donation pickup to help keep things from getting out of control (and yet I still have too much clutter!) But it’s often easier to give away to a good cause (American Kidney Fund is a good one)…it’s easier to let go if you know it’s helping someone.
