It's a big job to sell the stuff, although the money is nice to have, I think people think they are going to get the money they've wasted on junk "back." They don't get it back. If they're lucky, they'll get 20% of it's current market value back. I think it's better to just donate it, set it free. I have a regular donation pickup to help keep things from getting out of control (and yet I still have too much clutter!) But it's often easier to give away to a good cause (American Kidney Fund is a good one)...it's easier to let go if you know it's helping someone.
